“Patience and Penitentia is underscored by materials rooted in the South Australian rose garden. I wanted to bring together the scent of roses with traces of domestic spaces, referencing places where the silent treatment can exist, but also where it can be repaired. Familiar, intimate and warm scent notes meet the fresh rose bud, speaking to time, changing seasons, family histories and the intimacies of our closest relationships. It will accompany the 40 day performance, enveloping this work in a sensorial emotional landscape.”
